StuDocu's Doing Good Program

At StuDocu our commitment to helping students all around the globe does not stop at helping them to study as efficiently as possible. Every month 15 million students use our EdTech platform to exchange their knowledge and study materials to help each other succeed in their studies. Even though we feel privileged to be able to help so many high school, college and university students we know there are many children and adolescents who need way more help than that, for instance because they don’t have access to or cannot afford education at all. This is why we are launching our Doing Good program.

To kick things off we set up a partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, a nonprofit that provides funding for PreK-12 teachers and schools throughout the United States. Through supporting AdoptAClassroom.org we are able to help teachers, principals and administrators give children the tools they need and deserve to succeed in school. The demand for this is serious: half (50.2%) of America’s children in public schools live in poverty. This combined with declining education funding causes teachers to buy classroom supplies out of their own pockets to ensure every student in their class has equal access to the items they need. 96% of US teachers purchase basic school supplies for their classrooms and for their students whose families are unable to afford them. Two-thirds of all classroom supplies are purchased by teachers out of their own pocket. On average, teachers spend $745 of their own money every year on supplies for their classroom. The collaboration with AdoptAClassroom.org is just the beginning of our Doing Good program. In addition to supporting this charity, we are working on projects in which our colleagues can contribute by investing their time and rolling up their sleeves. As soon as the regulations allow us to offer in-person support and attend or organize events, we will announce upcoming activities and projects via this page. So stay tuned!
