Evernote is one of the most popular note-taking apps. Available both for mobile and desktop, Evernote allows you to save ideas, projects and lists wherever you are (and it’s also available offline!) and share them with other users. In addition, the app has a premium version with several exclusive features if you want to take things to the next level. On the other hand, Wunderlist is completely focused on lists: from simple and easy tasks such as grocery shopping to important projects which involve several steps, this app makes it almost fun to get stuff done (especially when you can finally tick off the task from the list). Google Drive is the tool that pretty much every student uses when it comes to working in teams. With Google Drive you can not only store pictures, documents, recordings and more in one location, but you can also access it from whatever device you are using and share it with your study colleagues. Scanner Pro is probably the best app for scanning and saving digital versions of paper documents, and as a student, you should definitely have an app like this always on your phone (and there are many free versions too!). Finally, I highly recommend Grammarly, which is an online grammar checking, spell checking, and plagiarism detection platform. It’s extremely useful when you need to write and want to check that everything is correct, whether you’re emailing your professor or writing an essay.
The app to get you to that 8:00 a.m class
Are you one of those students who just can’t help turning off the alarm and sleeping in? Then Alarmy is the perfect app to stop wasting all that time in the morning and wake up straight away. The app works in a way that the alarm only goes off when you complete a certain action: it could be taking a picture of a certain object (preferably, outside of your room), shaking the phone, or solving a simple math calculation.
The apps to learn new things
TED’s official app presents more than 3,000 TED Talks from remarkable people, allowing you to explore a great variety of topics and moods. Duolingo, on the other side, is probably the most popular language-learning app in the world. It currently offers 23 languages that users can practice and learn. Using Duolingo at least 15 minutes every day, the app states, is enough to get you started on that language you’ve been meaning to study for years!

Forest is a productivity app whose main objective is to get users to stop looking at their phone and focus on the “‘important things in life”. The app works in a very simple way: you open it and, by not using your phone you earn credits, which you can then use to plant real trees around the world.

Mint is a free app from Intuit.Inc that aims at helping people create budgets, track their spending and be smart about how they use their money. The app allows you to connect your bank accounts and credit cards, all in one place.
