Effects
As a result of the stock market crash of 1929, a third of all banks in America failed. It took 25 full years
for the stock market to completely recover. The longevity and severity of the depression had people
convinced it would end America. Although the majority of Great Depression effects were negatives, the
new deal given by FDR lead to many positives. The new deal gave jobs to many unemployed. The new
deal Public Works Administration built many landmarks known today such as the Chrysler building,
Rockefeller center, and more. Although the effects were major, some changed America for the better.
