Nick describes himself as highly moral and highly tolerant. Nick also said that he learned from

his father to reserve judgment towards other people.

2. Why has Nick come to the East?

Nick came to the East because he was going to have dinner with his cousin Daisy and her

husband, Tom.

3. How does Nick describe Tom Buchanan?

Nick describes Tom to be a powerful figure who is dressed in very wealthy clothes. Tom has

been rich for a very long time, so he is very cocky in the money and his image. In other words,

Tom is very arrogant and basically that image everyone has if they pictured a very wealthy man.

4. . Who is Jordan Baker? What does Nick find appealing about her?

Jordan Baker is a friend of Daisy. She is also known to be a competitive golfer. Nick likes that

she isn’t like everyone else. She is honest with her feelings. She most of the time looks like she

doesn’t really care about things. She always yawns when she is bored with her surroundings.
