- Write a response that supports or extends this thought. Truthfully going into this course I had no interest in philosophy, nor did I think it would serve any meaningful purpose in my life outside of being a credential. Little did I know it would provide a new positive perspective on life, which helped me get through a tough personal time. The essential skills I feel improved thanks to this class are my ability to think critically beyond what is in front of me and reflect on my actions. During this class, I have had some minor health issues and I often found myself asking “Why me?” This aligned with the final milestone topic I selected, the Problem of Evil, and it made me reflect on all the times I had faced adversity but came out stronger. Not only do I feel I have become more entangled with the concept of searching for a deeper meaning, but I also feel I have become more empathic toward others, as I have learned about all these new viewpoints throughout the course.Answers
- Write a response that supports or extends this thought. In reflecting on the last seven weeks immersed in philosophical exploration, I've come to realize that the true value of this journey lies not in the accumulation of facts or theories, but in the transformation of my approach to intellectual issues and critical thinking itself. Philosophy, at its core, is not just about absorbing information but rather about honing a set of skills that allow one to engage deeply with the world around them. Through grappling with complex philosophical problems, I've learned to question assumptions, challenge perspectives, and seek clarity amidst ambiguity. This skill set extends far beyond the confines of a classroom; it permeates every aspect of my life, influencing how I analyze arguments, make decisions, and navigate the complexities of existence.Answers
