Charlie Bucket is a boy from a very poor family. He lives with his parents and grandparents in a small house. Charlie loves chocolate, so when he gets a bar for his birthday, he takes good care of it.

One day Charlie asked his grandparents about Willy Wonka, the smartest chocolate maker with the biggest factory in the world who, besides chocolate, had invented things like a chewing gum that never loses its flavor, candies that change color when you suck them...

Grandpa Joe tells Charlie that the prince of India asked Willy Wonka for a palace made of chocolate. And so it was, Mr. Wonka made it, but the prince didn't want to eat it, he wanted the palace to live in. So, one very hot day, the palace melted.

Mr. Wonka discovered that he had spies from rival companies among his workers who were stealing his secret recipes and then copying them. Willy Wonka decided to close the factory and re-opened with more security than ever and with some very mysterious workers.

Mr. Wonka announces that he is going to let five lucky children go into his chocolate factory. He has packed 5 golden tickets in 5 chocolate bars that can be in any country. Those children who find the tickets, apart from a tour of the factory, will receive chocolates and sweets for the rest of their lives.

Everyone has gone crazy looking for the gold tickets. Attempts have been made to falsify the tickets; a machine has been created that shows, without opening the tablet, if it has the ticket or not... but there have been two the lucky children: Augustus Gloop (a fat boy) and Veruca Salt (a rich and spoiled girl).

Charlie has received as usual his chocolate bar for his birthday. His whole family is anxious about knowing that there will be a golden ticket inside the chocolate bar. Sadly, when he unwrapped the paper, there was only the chocolate, no golden ticket.

The newspaper announces that there are two new lucky people who have found the golden tickets. The first is Violet Beauregarde, a gum chewer who has already broken several records and the second is Mike Teavee, a nine-year-old boy addicted to gangster TV series.

When Charlie got home, his grandfather gave him a coin to buy a new chocolate bar so they would have another chance to find the golden ticket. But once again, there was nothing there, only chocolate.

It's winter, Charlie can't eat much because of his economic situation and it's very cold in the city. One day on his way home, Charlie finds fifty pence that he decides to spend on food because he is very hungry.

With the money he has found, Charlie buys a chocolate bar, but he was so hungry that he asked for a second one. This second bar had the golden ticket he wanted so much.

Mr. Bucket reads the gold ticket: On February 1st, at 10 a., the winners must go to Willy Wonka's factory with one or two family members to enjoy the tour. On their return, they will be escorted home with large trucks full of chocolate and sweets. Charlie and his family decide that Grandpa Joe will accompany the child.

Charlie, Violet, Mike, Augustus and Veruca, together with their families, went to the factory gate waiting for 10 o'clock so they could enter. There were many people waiting at the gates.

The factory doors open, and Willy Wonka appears to welcome the children and their families. After checking the ticket, the tour begins with the first stop: the chocolate room.

Mr. Wonka shows the chocolate room, an incredibly beautiful room with a waterfall and a chocolate river. Everything here is edible (even the grass, trees and buttercups). Suddenly, Veruca sees on the other side of the river some very tiny creatures: The Oompa-Loompas

The Oompa-Loompas lived in a terrible country where they had to feed by eating caterpillars. They wanted to eat cacao beans, but they couldn't get any. Mr. Wonka found out and went to Loompaland. Now the Oompa-Loompas work for him in a salary of cacao beans and chocolate.

Augustus Gloop has entered the river and a large pipe has sucked him straight into the Fudge Room. His parents become desperate and go to get him with the help of an Oompa-Loompa named by Mr. Wonka while the rest of the workers sing a song picking on the boy.

Visitors to the factory board a pink caramel boat rowed by Oompa-Loompas to enter the chocolate river. They see 3 doors that are the storage rooms: the one for the creams, the one for the whips and the one for the beans.

Behind the red door was the room for new inventions that are being tested and have not yet been made public. Mr. Wonka shows everlasting Gobstoppers and Hair Toffee.

There is a huge machine in the center of the room. This machine has many pipes that lead to a large round tub. Mr. Wonka presses a button and the pipes fill with colored liquids, when the process is finished a small gray chewing gum appears, which according to Mr. Wonka is one of the most fabulous in the world.

This gum is special because it's a full menu, it feels like you're eating and it's just as filling. Violet starts to chew the gum, but it still has some faults and starts to turn into blueberry. Ten Oompa-Loompas take her away to "squeeze" her while other Oompa-Loompas sing a song about Miss Bigelow.

Willy Wonka leads guests down the corridor, but he's very fast because he doesn't have time. Along the way you see doors with names like cows that give chocolate milk, marshmallows pillows, hot ice cream... or square sweets that look round.
