INTRODUCTION

MARY LOURD: Our courtesy to our ever-supportive district supervisor, PELAGIO A. WAPANO JR., to our

district administrative staff, to the school administrators of the 21 schools of GEN DISTRICT, to the

master teachers, to our facilitators, to our reading teachers and to all the participants, A VERY

________________ MORNING TO ALL. Good Morning Ma’am Mich!

MICH: Good morning, Ma’am Lot! Good morning everyone and Welcome to our District Training-

Workshop in Enhancing and Developing Techniques in Teaching Reading! My fellow reading

teachers, it’s the time of training once again – it’s another journey of professional development and

hopefully a fun-filled and worthwhile experience.

MARY LOURD: Since this event is deemed significant, let us officially commence our gathering today as we

pay respect to our Philippine flag through singing of the national anthem to be followed by asking divine

intervention as we say our prayer and be followed by the singing of Davao City Division Hymn-- all through

Audio-Visual Presentation.

MICH: Please be seated. Good morning once again everyone! Are we all ready for this? At this point we

shall give due recognition to the most important people of this event. They are the primary reason of this

training. Who are these people? Well, I’m referring to you teachers! This training wouldn’t be possible

without your presence.

WELCOME ADDRESS

MARY LOURD: So to welcome and acknowledge the participants today, let’s hear it from the Principal II of

GRCES, SIR JIMBOY E. TUBIGON. This will be followed by the introduction of the participants by the one

and the only reading enthusiast, our District Reading Program Coordinator and Master Teacher I of Suawan

ES, MA’AM LEAME O. AMBAYEN.

RATIONALE

MICH: Now, we know what we came here for. If someone would ask us why we are here, our ready answer

would be - TO ATTEND THE TRAINING but specifically what do you think are our goals of being here today?

Well if you’re not sure yet, let’s listen and be guided as our COORDINATING PRINCIPAL IN READING/

SCHOOL HEAD OF UNAPAN ES, in the person of SIR REDEMPTO C. PACOT, to give us the Rationale of

training-workshop. A big hand please.

MESSAGE

MARY LOURD: At this juncture, let’s stay focused and be inspired as we listen to a message from our very

humble, gentle and dedicated District Supervisor, PELAGIO A. WAPANO JR. Let’s welcome him with a round

of applause!

MARY LOURD: Thank you Sir for gracing us with your presence and leaving with such meaningful message

today despite your hectic schedule. God bless you always, sir.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE/ HOUSE RULES

MICH: Earlier we had been guided with setting the right goals for this 3-day training. While it is truly

important to have similar goals, it is also necessary to establish the right expectations so we could move

as one--into a single direction. So, may we call on the District Pagbasa Coordinator to set the right

expectations for our facilitators and participants so as to be guided by the house rules. Let’s give a round

of applause to MA’AM ROTCHIL DIANA G. MAGBANUA, Master Teacher I of Titogop ES.

UNFREEZING

MICH: We often stimulate our students’ senses to prepare them for the learning process and today we are

no different from our pupils. We came here today not as teachers or facilitators but as learners. Right,

Ma’am Lot?

MARY LOURD: TRUE, Ma’am Mich! Let us begin with few muscle stretches and a bit of dance moves before

we start the training? Common, reading teachers! Please all stand.

Techniques in Teaching Reading is just actually the right decision. (ingna imong katapad...)
