How did the simulated experience of Olivia Jones’s case make you feel?
The simulated experience of Olivia Jone’s case made me feel better prepare monitor for
patient who have preeclampsia in the real actual patient.
Describe the actions you felt went well in this scenario.
I felt the assessment part that I went well in this scenario. I did well on head-to-toes
assessment and make sure that patient have or have not edema. After I done with all assessment
and intervention, or administer medication then I went back for re-check on vital sign part just
want make sure patient BP, temperature, and respiratory was normal. I Also, monitor patient pain
and fetal heart rate.

EBP What are the indications that Olivia Jones’s preeclampsia has progressed?
The indications that Olivia Jone’s preeclampsia has progessed are her liver
function labs, her vital sign, and her electrolytes. Also she has +3 pitting edema, crackles at the
both bas of the lungs, low platelets, and on scale 0-10 she has 4 epigastric pain and headache.
She also has clonus +4 deep tendon reflexes.
PCC What should the priority teaching for Olivia Jones include?
The priority teaching for Olivia Jones include her plan of care and diagnosis of
her diseases. She also explain of magnesium sulfate administration and informed of the option
for induced lab or C. Section.
PCC/I Olivia Jones was placed on magnesium sulfate for treatment of her preeclampsia. What
are the indications for this drug, and what should be taught to the patient regarding side
effects?
Magnesium sulfate for indicated in the treatment of preeclampsia as to prevent
eclamptic seizures. The drug work by directly relaxing skeletal muscle and is a CNS depressant
which helps to decrease the risk of seizures. In addition, magnesium sulfate leves the body vis
the kidney because if patient do not function well, and blood magnesium levels risk that may can
lead to toxicity of the kidney, the nurse should pay close monitor to unrinary output. For side
effects include GI upset, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and dysrhythmias.
