Review on the Website CHADD Children and Adults with Attention- Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD) is a non- profit organization that has been around for many years. It was founded in 1987 and has been dedicated to providing parents as well as the public with information on ADHD so, that they may have a better understanding of the disorder (CHADD, 2022). Their website is one if not the most searched regarding information on ADHD by parents, caregivers, educators, and medical professionals. One of the key reasons for this is that they hold such high authority on the subject because of their resources and the amount of information that they have on the topic and making sure that it is up to date. They also encourage their readers to further their research of ADHD and not to just use CHADD as their main sure of information (CHADD,2020). CHADD uses these sets of criteria authority, accuracy, as well as objectivity to help educate and inform the public on all the aspects of ADHD which ensures they are a credible website. Authority CHADD is a website that uses authority letting its readers such as parents, caregivers or educators know that it is an organization with credible authors. A website using Authority lets us know that the website can be trusted by knowing who the author is so that it is possible to verify that they have the proper credentials to speak on the content of the website (Grand Canyon University [GCU], 2015). The authors who are responsible for providing the site with its information have degrees in the subject of study of ADHD with a great amount of experience in the field as well to back it up. The CHADD website provides the author's list of credentials on their staff and board page (CHADD, 2022) so, that its readers can verify that they do have the correct knowledge on the subject that they are writing about. CHADD’s website shows the use of
homepage (CHADD, 2022). Having this at the bottom of the homepage lets the reader know how up to date and current the websites information is. Summary The CHADD organization’s website is credible and reliable source of information for parents, caregivers, and educators because of the use of these sets of criteria authority, accuracy, as well as objectivity. CHADD provides research that can be trusted because it is unbiased, and all their information is supported. CHADD is an easy website to navigate that can be beneficial to anyone that might be having a hard time getting a diagnosis or who may need aid in finding resources and support. The authors of the CHADD meet the criteria of authority because they have credentials back by their degrees and experience in the field. The accuracy of the website is shown using the .org in the domain as well as it has information that is backed by cited sources. Lastly CHADD makes sure that the currency of the information is up to date and place their copyright on the bottom of their page to show proof of this.
