The simulation gave me a lot more confidence on how to deal with a patient who’s pregnant.
Describe the actions you felt went well in this scenario.
The head-to-toe assessment went well as well as giving the medications that the doctor ordered. It
was clear and giving the medication was pretty good.

EBP What are the risk factors for Olivia Jones and her baby if preeclampsia is not treated in a timely
manner?
The baby and Olivia Jones could be harmed if not treated for preeclampsia. The patient could suffer
from seizures, and even harm the baby.
EBP List the warning signs of hypertensive disorder in pregnant women.
Nausea, weight gain, fluid imbalance, visual changes, edema.
PCC What should the priority teaching for Olivia Jones include?
The patient should be taught the signs and symptoms of having eclampsia. She should also be taught
that she has to be on bed rest and not do certain activities that elevate her blood pressure.
T&C What key elements would you include in the handoff report for this patient? Consider the
situation-background-assessment-recommendation (SBAR) format.
S: The patient is 23 year old African American female who is 36 weeks pregnant. Patient came in with
8lb weight gain in 2 weeks, nausea, and edema.
B: Pregnancy has no prior issues until the appointment today. The patients baby has a heart rate of
