Introductory- Joseph Robinette Biden was elected the 46th president on january 20, 2021 as a democrat. He served as vice president under President Obama from 2009 -2017. He also represented Delaware for 36 years.

First actions/year- Joseph Biden began taking main action during the beginning of March 2021, signing the second covid relief bill that mainly supported Americans financially but also supported health insurance subsidies, cash-for-kids allowances to fight against child poverty and state and local aid for schools, restaurants, pensions, homeowners, renters, farmers and funerals. On April 2, 2021 a reported 916,000 jobs were added over the span of March. On April 8th, Biden took major actions on gun control, making it easier to flag people who shouldn’t be allowed to own guns. Around this time, Biden also withdrew troops from Afghanistan as well as administering over 200 million covid-19 vaccine doses.

Midyear(Hannah)- later in the year many people in Mexico started to begin to cross the U.-mexico border. Earlier in his presidency he had gotten rid of the “remain in Mexico '' that former president Donald Trump had made in his presidency. Biden said he had wanted to reunite the children and the families between the US-mexican border. By December The Department of Homeland Security announced that over 100 children were reunited with their parents and promised more.

Year 2(Chey)- As the second year of Biden’s presidency begins, Biden’s orders die down. Biden continues on with the presidency, focusing on the situation with Ukraine and Russia. However, many look down on Biden compared to his first few months in office. He inherited a messy situation in 2021, but soon spirals out of his personal control.

Mid year 2(Hannah)- Biden is now trying to manage a war and now he is having to mourn the loss of over 1 million American citizens from covid-19 on May 12. And he is putting more funding into the pandemic and to prevent it. Biden is now just trying to stop these deaths. We will see what biden will do for the rest of his term.
