Those of older age, with previous hxs of heart disease, hypertension, hypothyroidism

Need to prevent clots due to pooling of blood in atria

Follow up with cardiologist

Disclose to patient the importance of medication adherence

Beta blockers calcium channel blockers digoxin anti-arrhythmic medications blood thinners Cardioversion surgery or catheter placement procedures

Can form clots due to pooling of blood in the atria as it quivers.
