○ Counterinsurgency or COIN has been focus of military for past 20 years
■ Iraq and Afghanistan, much more than Vietnam but we had abandoned it

○LISCO → more planned wars
○ There are sections that are papers written by students that they teach over there
getting masters degrees
■ Check abstract to see if its related
■ Bibliography should be second place you look in any paper
● Can pull sources from there instead of rehashing what they wrote
in their own opinion
■ Helps u find if u want to read the paper and then if you can use stuff that
was in the paper
○ Operational Leadership experiences
■ Primary sources with leaders from Iraq and Afghanistan
○ APD has like all the stuff in use right now
○ Subject List has a ton of stuff too
● A lot of the ThinkTanks have many writings for US military
○ Rand (big one), AEI, CSIS, ISS, Brookings, ISW, etc)
