The Russia-Ukraine war (2 022 )

The Russia Ukraine war is still an ongoing conflict. The tension between Russia and Ukraine has

ignited back in 2014 when Russia annexed the Crimean peninsula from Ukraine. At the present time, the conflict has commenced again. The invasion of Russia has victimized and displaced more than millions of civilians in Ukraine. The wreckage is colossal. The International Court of Justice has ordered Russia to cease its military operation. Yet, it seems debatable that Russia could justify its action, which includes violation of International law, Human rights law, humanitarian law, and Armed aggression against civilians.

Due to this, various monetary sanctions by the European countries and the USA have affected the sector economy. Sanctions and conflict had a great negative impact on exchange rates. The Russian ruble has inflated about 30% against the US dollar. The financial markets have plunged into volatility. Russia and Ukraine both are global suppliers of agro-food with 80% of global trade in Crude sunflower oil and 27% in Wheat. The developing countries and African countries imports one-third of the wheat from both countries. Not only African countries but also European nations are heavily dependent on the Yamal- Europe Gas pipeline. The NATO and USA sanctions on Russia would make it significantly difficult for them to be able to import gas now and then. The delivery modes probably to be affected are Ocean transport and rail trans freight.

The War must end before it causes more wreck to the civilians and the world. This uncertain situation might end up in ‘The Fog Of War', or Ukraine remaining neutral and out of NATO could help to stop the annexation and war like Sweden and Austria otherwise, it may lead to the European war. But regardless of the outcome of this conflict, the world has changed. It may not go back to the previous status quo. Perhaps the Russian diplomatic relation with the world would be different.
