1. A catering company prepared and served 300 meals at an anniversary

celebration last week using eight workers. The week before, six workers prepared

and served 240 meals at a wedding reception.

a. For which event was the labor productivity higher? Explain.

The higher labor productivity was on the wedding reception. In the

anniversary celebration there are eight workers but only served 300 meals

while in the wedding reception the six workers were able to served 240

meals. The meals served in the wedding reception may be lesser but with the

number of the workers in the anniversary celebration and only produced 300

meals which is just 60 meals higher than the meals produced by 6 workers in

the wedding reception shows that the productivity in anniversary celebration

was low.

b. What are some possible reasons for the productivity differences?

I think the main reason of productivity differences was the number of labors

and their working capacity.
