It’s often argued that nuclear power’s advantages in providing an inexpensive source of
energy and preserving global peace makeover for its harmful disadvantages. Although
having cheap energy asset and friendly diplomatic relations is important, I personally believe
that nuclear weapons present a harmful danger for humanity in many fields.
Firstly, despite producing low-cost and clean electricity, nuclear power’s radiations are too
harmful to all the surroundings. Studies state that nuclear energy radiations affect people as
far as 5 kilometers from the radiating spot. These radiations cause enduring physical
disabilities, make people more prone to have cancer, and it also deteriorate human bones.
Not just this, but they also harm all living organisms that are exposed to these radiations. For
example, the Fukushima disaster that occurred in Japan 8 years ago was an accident in a
nuclear power plant that caused hundreds of deaths and cancer tumors. Moreover, all the
neighboring plants were deteriorated.
Secondly, nuclear weapons are not maintaining world peace as a threat, but they are
actually forming a lethal weapon. Leaders of nuclear weapons owning countries may be
cruel and misuse it it, causing a global massacre. Plenty of historical examples had proofed
how deadly are Weapons of Mass Destruction. For instance, the first war WMD was used at,
which was World War II, had accumulative casualties of 60 million deaths. This was more
than 5% of the global population at that time! Likewise, nowadays a bloody war is taking
place between India and Pakistan over a land lying between them called Kashmir. The two
countries first used nuclear weapons to threat each other and avoid a brutal war, but not too
soon till the war started, resulting in nearly a million kills.
Overall, it may be true that nuclear power generates pure energy; however, it definitely
dopant maintain world peace and its radiations are very harmful to human beings.
