Immediate Release for Warriors Halfback Kodi Nikorima

The New Zealand Warriors has granted halfback Kodi Nikorima an immediate release from his contract with the club, effective immediately. Here 8Xbet explain in details down bellow....

Contract Situation

In February, Warriros signed star fullback Roger Tuivasa-Sheck to a four-year extension worth $3. million per season. That left second-rower Tohu Harris as New Zealand’s top earner on around $ million annually. The re-signing of playmaker Shaun Johnson had also been mooted with clubs in Australia and England circling in recent weeks as well.

Re-Signing Options

There’s a good chance that winger Ken Maumalo remains at the club in 2018. His current deal expires at season’s end, but New Zealand Rugby League has changed its policy to cap any Kiwi player at one year deals only; Maumalo is already on his second year. Having made his international debut last year, it’s likely that he will be signed to an extension or given another one-year deal as he was a great asset for both club and country last season.

Proposed Transfer Fees

Gold Coast Titans - $300,000 St George Illawarra Dragons - $200,000 Newcastle Knights - $400, Parramatta Eels - $500,000. None of these teams are up to speed in their halves department with a slight lack of depth. However Kodi would be able to fight it out with Jack Cogger, Brock Lamb and potentially Mitchell Pearce at Newcastle.

Will He Move?

He’s one of only three players still at their original club from 2017, but it appears as though he won’t be for much longer. Whether it is because of roster space or a lack of playing time, Nikorima could be on his way out from New Zealand. It’s unlikely that he will move to another Super League team, as none have shown interest in signing him and have already filled their rosters with back-up halves.

Best fit for the player

It was believed that Newcastle would be able to provide a more competitive environment after making a top-eight run last season. However, they have started 2018 with two straight losses, leaving them well adrift in 15th place. As such, it’s not surprising that Brown felt pressure to bring in fresh talent at his disposal. He has been linked with Sydney Roosters half Mitchell Pearce and St George Illawarra’s Gareth Widdop.
