1 – COOKING CLUB

Part 2: The time and day you can come. The food you can enjoy cooking and eating. I have a full-time job from Monday to Friday, so I can attend the club’s activities on weekends. I love eating Pho and have a great recipe for this dish that I want to share with other members. Part 3: Q1: Why did you join the club? I’m passionate about cooking, but I don’t have much experience preparing meals. Therefore, I joined the club to enhance my cooking skills. Additionally, I would like to try different cuisines made by other members and learn some new recipes from them. Q2: How often do you think you will go? After reviewing my schedule, I think I can join the club at least twice a week, mainly on weekends. Actually, I want to spend more time in classes in order to improve my cooking abilities, but I’m quite busy with work right now. Q3: What do you think about the price of the classes? I believe that the price is appropriate for us because it includes both the membership fees and the cost of cooking equipment and ingredients. Additionally, the club also uses these fees to run some other activities. Thus, I think the price is quite reasonable. Part 4: All the classes next week will be canceled because the teacher is on his holiday. No refund for the canceled classes. Q1: Hi Anna, How’s it going? Have you heard the news that our Cooking club will cancel all the classes next week, just because the teacher is on his holiday? It’s ridiculous! Not to mention that they won’t refund the money that we paid. I think we can email the manager to let them reconsider this problem because this is a personal reason. What do you think? Love, Jennie Q2: Dear Manager, My name is Jennie Dang and I have been a club member since 2020. I am writing this email to express my dissatisfaction in terms of the cancellation of the classes next week.

According to the notice, all the cooking classes have been canceled due to the teacher’s absence. I suggest the club needs to reconsider this issue and find another teacher to replace since this is for personal reasons and not everyone can arrange their time to attend the make-up classes. Apart from that, we are in a difficult financial situation, because of the Covid-19 epidemic. I find the decision that the members won’t get a refund for the canceled classes absolutely inconsequential. Therefore, it would be reasonable if the management can repay 50% of the fees to the members. I hope that my suggestions are taken into consideration. Yours faithfully, Jennie Dang

2 – BOOK CLUB (1)

Part 2: Hobbies about books. I’m passionate about space science and strange natural phenomena, so I have read a lot about them. This type of book satisfies my need to deeply understand the planet. Part 3: Q1: Why did you join the club? I decided to join the club for a number of reasons. First of all, I would like to connect with a peer group who share similar interests. Furthermore, I also want to expand my knowledge with a variety of books. Q2: The most recent book that you have read? The meaning of this book I have recently completed reading a book named “Angels and Demons” written by Dan Brown, which is the best book I have ever read. This science fiction novel sends a strong message on the relationship of religion and science. Q3: Your plan for the upcoming holiday? Which books will you buy? I plan to take an online course on financial management at home in the next holiday season. I think I will buy more of Dan Brown’s novels such as “The Da Vinci Code” and “Deception Point”, or some economic books that relate to my works. Part 4: The club stops giving free books every month due to lack of funds. The delivery is slow. Q1: Hi Anna,

Q2: I want to buy my friend a book as a gift, but I don’t know what he likes to read. Can you give me some advice? If I were you, I’d buy him a book that might suit his personality. I think an adventure book or a travel book would be a reasonable choice for an extrovert. Conversely, an introvert may like a romantic novel. Q3: People are more inclined to read books on computers. What do you think about this? Nowadays, computers are getting increasingly popular. As a result of the convenience, people choose to read books on these devices rather than on paper. In particular, buying an e-book is faster and cheaper than shopping in bookstores. Part 4: The club is organizing a talk by a famous writer next year. Which writer do you think we should invite to speak, and what topics should the writer speak on? Remember that we want to engage as many audiences as possible, including young and old people. Q1: Hi Anna, How’s it going? Have you heard the news that our Book club is organizing a talk by a famous writer? It’s amazing. I’ll write to the club to suggest inviting Mr. Anh Nguyen because he is very well-known for his novels that are suitable for everyone. What do you think? Love, Jennie. Q2: Dear Manager, My name is Jennie Dang and I have been a club member since 2020. I am writing this email to express my opinion about the notification that I have received from our club. According to the announcement, our club is going to organize a talk by a famous writer next year. I am really excited about this event because I have been waiting for it for a long time. I think this is a chance for club members to learn about the process of writing a book. From my perspective, I suggest the club invite Mr. Anh to be the speaker for our talk show. He is currently one of the most well-known writers, with a large following of both young and old people. His novels about the youth inspire readers to be more confident and to love life more. Therefore, Mr. Anh should mention some topics about the book's creation such as the ideas, the backstory, and the insight message which can attract more listeners. I believe that the audiences will enjoy our talk show. I hope that my suggestions are taken into consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours faithfully, Jennie Dang

3 – LANGUAGE CLUB

Part 2: What do you do in your free time? In my spare time, I enjoy reading books while listening to my favorite songs, which helps me rest my thoughts and improve my mood after a hard-working day. Part 3: Q1: Why did you choose this course? I decided to join this course because a friend of mine recommended it to me, and I badly want to improve my language skills. In addition, I would like to make friends with people who have the same hobby. Q2: How did you find this course? It’s difficult? I have been looking for a language course for months. There are many online classes for me to choose from, but I don’t know the quality of the teaching. Then I ended up being recommended for this course by a friend. Q3: Your expectation after this course? I expect that at the end of this course, my language skills, particularly my speaking and writing abilities will have significantly improved. Enhancing these skills will help me do a better job. Part 4: Q1: Your friend is looking for a language course and asking you. Introduce the course to her. Hi Anna, How’s it going? Are you looking for a language course? You can choose the language club that I’m studying in. The teachers here are enthusiastic and have many interesting lessons. I have learned a lot of things here. When studying foreign languages, you need to listen to the lectures and work hard to complete the homework. What do you think? Love, Jennie Q2: You cannot attend the last class of this course. Write your reason why and your feeling about the classes.

Q1:

Hi Anna, How’s it going? Hope you are well. Have you heard the news that our Fitness club is going to reduce the number of facilities in order to cut costs? What an inconvenience! I think the club should organize fundraising events instead of following the above comments. What do you think? Love, Jennie Q2: Dear Manager, My name is Jennie Dang and I have been a club member since 2020. I am writing this email to express my opinion about the club’s most recent notification. According to the announcement, in order to cut down on the cost, our club will be compelled to restrict the number of facilities available to members. I believe that this decision will dissatisfy the club members who have paid the entire cost of using the equipment. From my perspective, we can advertise and recruit additional members to stabilize the club’s financial resources, such as we can hold sporting events and bring in more individuals to the club. Besides, we should consider reselling the equipment which is rarely used and broken in order to save money. I hope that my suggestions are taken into consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Yours faithfully, Jennie Dang

5 – HEALTH CLUB

Part 2: Which classes do you want to join? When can you come? I would prefer to attend weekend classes because I have to work at the company from Monday to Friday. In particular, I am interested in courses related to healthcare. Part 3: Q1: How did you know about the club? I asked a friend about a club that can offer wellness classes, and she suggested this club to me. She also mentioned that joining the club would allow me to exercise and unwind after a long day at work.

Q2: Your expectation when joining the club? By joining the club, I hope to learn more about healthcare methods so that I can better care for myself and my family. In addition, I would like to develop friendships with other members who share similar interests. Q3: Your opinion about the fitness center in recent. Many people believe the clubs' commitments are unreliable because of numerous fraudulent occurrences. However, you can read online reviews about the quality of the fitness clubs and choose from a number of reputable ones which have a professional training program and competent coaches. Part 4: The instructor will be absent in two next weeks. You can use the equipment without the teacher. Q1: Hi Anna, How’s it going? Have you heard the news that our instructor won’t come to class for two weeks? What an inconvenience! I find it difficult for us to use the equipment effectively without an instructor because we are newbies. I think we can send an email to the manager about this issue. What do you think? Love, Jennie Q2: Dear Manager, My name is Jennie Dang and I have been a club member for two months. I am writing this email to express my opinion about the notification that I have received from the club. According to the announcement, our instructor will be absent for two weeks due to a personal reason. Then we will use the equipment to practice on our own without any guidance. It comes as a disappointment to me as we are all new members, so we don't know how to operate the equipment and hence are unable to get the most out of it. From my perspective, I suggest that the club management locate a replacement for our coach within two weeks, ensuring that everyone else's training progress is undisturbed. If a replacement cannot be found, the club will have to arrange for us to have a make-up class. I hope that my suggestions are taken into consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Yours faithfully,

Dear Manager, My name is Jennie Dang and I have been a club member since 2020. I am writing this email to express my opinion about the notification that I have received from our club. According to the announcement, our club is looking for a volunteer who will be the speaker in the upcoming event. The volunteer is required to prepare a short talk. Now I have a year of experience in creating content on a website. Therefore, I am confident in my ability to work well as a speaker. To present in the upcoming event, I am going to talk about the topic “Food reviewer” that provides factual information of this occupation. In particular, my talk will clarify the concerns about this job for young people who want to start a career related to their interest. Moreover, it will assist the attendees in determining whether they are qualified for the job. Please consider my inspiration for being a volunteer in the upcoming event. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Yours faithfully, Jennie Dang

7 – SCIENCE CLUB

Part 2: Q1: When and where do you read books? I normally spend much of my free time reading books at home, mainly in the evenings. On weekends, I like to relax in a coffee shop and read a novel. Part 3: Q1: Why do you love science? I am really keen on studying science. Science provides me with a wealth of important information about the world. I usually watch science videos in terms of the history of scientific revolutions and famous inventions.

Q2: In the past, you learned about science in school. Do you remember something? How was it? I have been learning about science since I was in third grade. In each science lesson, I was instructed to do interesting experiments. Thanks to my understanding of science, I can use a lot of valuable information in my daily life. Q3: Do you like watching science on Tv or reading science books?

Personally, I prefer watching science programs on television to reading science books. The graphics in science videos attract me and help me understand the materials better. Furthermore, watching a video takes me less time than reading a book of the same content. Q4: Do you think that Technology impacts negatively on people’s lives? In my opinion, despite its benefits, Technology has certain negative effects on people’s lives. People appear to be engrossed in its utilities, then reduce social interaction. Moreover, individuals frequently using these devices may suffer mental issues, such as technology addiction, insomnia and so on.

Part 4: The club is planning to organize a science exhibition next month. Both young people and elderly people can take part in our activities at the event. Your suggestions Q1: Hi Anna, How’s it going? I have received an email from my Science club about the news that they are preparing a science exhibition next month. I feel so excited because I‘ve been waiting for it for months. I have some ideas for this event, then, I will send an email to the manager to suggest them. What do you think about our event? Write back your thoughts. Love, Jennie Q2: Dear Manager, My name is Jennie Dang and I have been a club member since 2020. I am writing this email to express my opinion about the notification that I have received from our club.

According to the announcement, our club is planning to organize a science exhibition next month. I am really excited when hearing this notice because I have been waiting for this event for a long time. I believe that this is a chance for our club to get widespread recognition. From my perspective, I suggest the club rent a large venue to display our science collection and to hold the activities, such as a university hall or an event center. In addition, Sunday will be the most convenient time for participants. Besides, I think the club should issue entrance fees at a reasonable price so that most people can attend. Issuing tickets can help us easily manage the numbers of attendees and pay expenses of organizing the event. Finally, the club needs to post the information of the exhibition on social networks to attract more people. I hope that my suggestions are taken into consideration. I hope that my suggestions are taken into consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

How’s it going? Have you heard the news that our Computer club will update its website in order to attract more members? This is a great plan because our recruitment is coming. I think the club should hire a web programmer to do that. What do you think? Love, Jennie Q2: Dear Manager, My name is Jennie Dang and I have been a club member since 2020. I am writing this email to express my opinion about the notification that I have received from our club. According to the announcement, in order to improve the usage efficiency, our club is going to adjust our website next month. I find this plan excellent because our member recruitment is approaching, and we need a well-designed website to impress applicants. From my perspective, the club can hire web designers and web programmers to upgrade and renovate our website because they are professional in that field and can do the task effectively. Moreover, we should conduct a survey to find out what people need and expect from a website, and then make changes to meet the demand of the vast majority of users. I hope that my suggestions are taken into consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Yours faithfully, Jennie Dang.

9 – MOVIE CLUB

Part 2: How did you know about the club? Why did you join? I have previously seen an advertisement for the club on Facebook and decided to join. I’m hoping to learn about more fascinating films according to the recommendations of members. Besides, I would like to connect with others who share similar interests. Part 3: Q1: what kinds of movies do you like? I’m a big fan of romantic comedy movies with positive messages which normally have interesting stories that teach me valuable lessons about people and the world. In addition, I love watching films with my family and this genre is ideal for doing so. Q2: My friend and I want to go to the cinema. Your suggestion about a film

I suppose you should choose a movie from a genre that both you and your friend are passionate about. If you enjoy action movies, “Marvel’s The Avenger” will be your best choice. If you are looking for a light- hearted film, try “Miracle in Cell No”. Q3: Part 4: The club is going to upgrade the facilities because of the current deterioration. How to have finance to handle this problem? Should additional fees be charged from members? What do you recommend? Q1: Hi Anna, How’s it going? Have you heard the news that our Movie club is going to upgrade its facilities due to the current deterioration? That sounds excellent! Then we will get better experience with the new facilities in the upcoming activities. However, paying the modernization expenses can be a serious problem for the club. What do you think? Love, Jennie Q2: Dear Manager, My name is Jennie Dang and I have been a club member since 2020. I am writing this email to express my opinion about the notification that I have received from our club. According to the announcement, our club is planning to renovate the facilities due to the existing deterioration of our equipment, which is fairly old and frequently breaks. I believe that the club members will be pleased with this decision since we will be able to have better experience in the following activities if we use the new facilities. From my perspective, increasing membership fees is not the best solution for the problem of paying modernization expenses. I suggest the club resell the equipment that is significantly damaged and inefficient in order to save money. Furthermore, instead of providing movie subtitles for free, we can charge for them on websites in order to generate revenue from online viewers, and then stabilize the club's financial resources. I hope that my suggestions are taken into consideration. Yours faithfully, Jennie Dang

10 - OUTDOOR CLUB

Dear sir,

My name is Jennie Dang and I have been a club member since 2020. I am writing this email to express my opinion about the notification that I have received from our club.

According to the announcement, our club is going to organize a trip for members in the summer. I am really excited and eager to join in the journey. A trip to the mountain or the coast is pretty appealing to me. However, I hope to take a trip to the beach. From my perspective, the decision of location should be determined by the actual circumstances. The mountain is selected by many young people because they like adventure. Nevertheless, traveling to the mountains is quite risky for the elderly. Therefore, I think the trip to the coast is appropriate for both the young and the old. In addition, the management can conduct a survey to determine which place is most requested by our members. I hope that my suggestions are taken into consideration.

I look forward to hearing from you soon. Yours faithfully,

Jennie Dang

Part 2: What is your favorite time and place to take pictures? I normally spend my weekends photographing at different cafes. I can enjoy my drink while taking many photos of the decorations of each shop and the street scene outside. Part 3: A: What is your favorite photo? I really like the photo of a beautiful homestay in Lao Cai province taken by my grandfather. The unique and creative design in that picture made a strong impression on me, which inspired me to pursue photography as a hobby. B: What kind of photos do you like to take? In addition, when I travel to places with stunning scenery, I also take photos of natural landscapes. C: Is it good to take pictures with the phone? In my opinion, it is quite convenient to take pictures with a phone. Because the phone is smaller and lighter than a camera, you can take it with you wherever you go to take pictur

es. With modern smartphones, you can take high-resolution photographs as a camera. Part 4: You are a member of a photography club. You received this email from the club. Dear member, Last year, the club held a contest but there was only one category. This year, the club will be divided into several categories including women, men and children under 16 years old. Q1: Hi Anna, How’s it going? Hope you are well. Have you heard the news that our Photography club will hold a contest next month with a new rule? Instead of having just one category as before, the contest will have three: women, men, and children under the age of 16. I believe its regulations are reasonable. What do you think? Love, Jennie Q2: Dear Manager, My name is Jennie Dang and I have been a club member since 2020. I am writing this email to express my opinion about the notification that I have received from our club. According to the announcement, our club is hosting a contest next month that will be divided into three groups: men, women, and children under the age of 16. I was really excited when I heard this notice since I have been waiting for it for months. From my perspective, I believe that this year's competition will be more fair and interesting than past years, and that the new regulation will attract a large number of participants. That club's decision of classification in the contest can help the management correctly evaluate the champion in each category. In addition, the club should post the information of the event on social media to attract people. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Yours faithfully, Jennie Dang

12 - NATURE CLUB

Part 2: Please tell me about your free time and hobbies?

According to the announcement, our club is planning a trip for the young children with the purpose of helping them develop a love for animals and nature. The club is looking for a reasonable place that includes animals and plants attractions, and recreation areas. I think this trip will be supported by most of the parents. From my perspective, Cuc Phuong national park will be an ideal location for our trip since it is famous for its diverse kinds of animals and trees. In addition, this destination has an entertainment area with many interesting physical activities. Therefore, the children can not only enjoy themselves on the trip but also learn some helpful knowledge about animals, nature and the environment. I hope that my suggestions are taken into consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Yours faithfully, Jennie Dang.

13 - TECHNOLOGY CLUB

Part 2: Please tell us about what you use technology for most often and why: Because I am a university student studying accounting, I normally use accounting software to assist me complete any accounting entry quickly. I can do my tasks effectively thanks to programs like MISA, BRAVO, and others. Part 3: A: Can you tell us about your first electronic device? A phone was the first electrical device I used. It was a graduation present from my father. This device was used to communicate with my friends, listen to music, and take photos. The phone assists me in bettering my social communication. B: I’m pretty addicted to social media. I use it every day! What social media sites do you usually use? I share a common interest with you. I'm interested in surfing Instagram. I usually spend 5 hours every day on Instagram. I can upload my photos, acquire a lot of useful information, and be entertained with a lot of humorous pictures and videos. C: I heard that the club is going to start meeting once a week, instead of once a month. What is your opinion on this? I totally agree with this decision. The weekly meeting allows all members to keep up on current events and relevant information. Members will be able to adhere to the club's schedule on a regular basis, discuss their thoughts, and complete their tasks on time. Part 4:

Dear Member, We are writing to inform you that the trip to the science center to see the robotics display has unfortunately been canceled. Although many of you were looking forward to this excursion, we did not reach the necessary number of participants to continue. However, we hope to reschedule this event for next month. Please let us know if you would like a refund or if you would like to hold your spot for the new date. Q1: Hi Anna, How’s it going? Have you heard the news that our Technology club will cancel the trip to the science center due to lack of participants. I feel disappointed about this announcement. However, the event can be rescheduled for next month. The club is willing to repay the money if we request it. What do you think? Love, Jennie. Q2: Dear Manager, My name is Jennie Dang and I have been a club member since 2020. I am writing this email to express my opinion about the notification that I have received from our club. According to the announcement, our club is going to cancel the trip to the science center due to an insufficient number of participants. It comes as a disappointment to me as I have been waiting to see the robotics display of this event for months. From my perspective, I suggest the club allow members to invite more friends or relatives who want to go on a trip. Then, the club can organize a small trip with the current number of participants. In the worst situation, if the club cannot hold a trip, I will get the refund and wait for another chance. I hope that my suggestions are taken into consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Yours faithfully, Jennie Dang.

my dissatisfaction in terms of the cancellation of the classes next week.
