Questions 1 -10 are directed towards the Loud Cloud LMS:

  1. Click on the DASHBOARD tab in the Loud Cloud classroom. Describe the following tabs

(table will expand as needed):

Path

Gradebook Shows a breakdown of how we’re doing in each class. Includes the due date, submission date, score and any comments left on each assignment.

Messages Includes notifications and announcements. For instance, it notifies you of published grades as well as any announcements from your instructors. Preferences Basically a mini settings tab that allows you to customize certain features within Loudcloud.

  1. From the Course Home page in Loud Cloud, explain the steps to find MY GRADES.
  • Next to the Grand Canyon University logo in the upper left hand corner, select a class from the

drop down menu

  • Go to “Dashboard” and select “Gradebook” from the drop down menu
  1. Under the DASHBOARD tab in LoudCloud, click on the STUDENT RESOURCES link and locate the STUDENT SUCCESS CENTER. Search for RESOURCES and locate THE WRITING CENTER. From there click on STYLE GUIDE AND TEMPLATES and locate GCU Style Guide and Template documents_._ (Right click and save these to your computer for future reference). Once you have read the Style Guide, why do you think academic writing requires such strict formatting?

I think that one of the main reasons why academic writing has such strict perimeters is to avoid any plagiarism, intentional or non-intentional. The bibliography formatting allows precise crediting that goes straight back to the source.

  1. Inside the Student Success Center , type “Tutorials & Webinars” in the search bar. List three

tutorials or webinars that will help you most as you begin this course. For each, explain how you feel they will help.

  1. From the Course Home page in Loud Cloud, click on the DASHBOARD tab and then click

on CONNECT link and then FORUMS. Locate (at the top of the page) and explain the purpose of the Discussion Question Forum, Private Forum, and Questions to Instructor Forum.

a. Discussion Question: Gives title, author, start date, total posts, my posts, and unread posts of each DQ, giving students the opportunity to see their personal interaction, as well as peer interaction within posts. b. Private Forum: Shows any private form of communication, who it was created by, communicated with, started, as well as total posts, my posts, and unread posts, similar to the discussion forum. c. Questions to Instructor Forum: Shows any questions to the instructor, which can also be replied to by anyone in the class. There is also an option to like responses, which I find extremely helpful because it gives you an idea of what response might be the most helpful.

Question 11 is directed towards the GCU Website at: gcu

  1. On the Home page, click on Degree Programs, locate and click your area of interest,

choose your Bachelor Program , click on Go To Program. Locate your Program Core Courses and list one course that looks most interesting to you. Why did you choose this course? Include the course name, course number and course description along with your explanation.

NSG-316: Health Assessment Students use the nursing process to systematically collect, validate, and communicate the physiological, psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, lifestyle, and functional assessment data for diverse adult clients. Students demonstrate client-centered interviewing skills and obtaining a health history, along with hands-on assessment techniques through supervised laboratory practice. This course interests me because it gives the basis to analyzing the different aspects of a human, both physical, mental, and spiritual, which I believe will be very useful to me in any of my other nursing courses.

Questions 12 and 13 are directed towards the GCU Website at: students.gcu

  1. On the Home Page, locate and click Student Affairs , then locate and click Spiritual Life.

Describe which sections of this page interest you. Why?

Having gone to a private Christian school my entire life, I connect strongly connect to the Spiritual mission and vision that GCU upholds. The Chapel and Gathering section interests me because it includes a worship schedule so that students and faculty are able to attend. I also really appreciate the “Life Groups” aspects that bring students together through the word of God allowing us to build relationships and form community through our savior.

  1. On the Home page, locate and click Student Resources. Locate and click Learning Resources then locate and click Academic and Career Excellence Center. What can you expect during your tutoring session with a learning advocate (LEAD)?

Your learning advocate is also another GCU student, which is helpful seeing that they can connect to you on your level. LEAD’s aim to help you succeed in classes and get the most out of your education. There are course codes that allow you to connect with specific methods of assistance should you experience any difficulties in a specific class.
