Mechanics a. There should be one (1) representative per section (12 representatives all in all). b. There will be three (3) sets of games (each set with 4 sections, 2 sections per grade level). c. The sequence will be determined through drawing lots of letters:A (1st), B (2nd), C (3rd), and D (4th). d. Payers initially draw 7 tiles each and place them on their rack. e. There will only be a 30-second timer for everyone to think and put their word on the board. f. The first player combines two or more of his or her letters to form a word and places it on the board to read either across or down with one letter on the center square. (Diagonal words are not allowed.) After playing a word, the player receives replacement letters, one for each letter played. g. Following the first turn, players alternate. Each plays a series of tiles forming a word and then draws new tiles. h. Always keep 7 tiles on each rack, unless there are not enough tiles left.

i. The letters placed in a single turn must all be in a single horizontal row or in a single vertical column, and the letters placed (plus letters already on the board) must form a single word from the dictionary, with no gaps. j. Each of the two blank tiles may be used as any letter. When playing a blank, you must state which letter it represents. It remains that letter for the rest of the game. k. The game ends when all of the letters are either in the player's racks or on the board, and one player uses his or her last letter. C. How the winners will be determined a. There will be three sets of game (each sets with 4 sections, 2 sections per grade level) i. Grade 7 vs. Grade 8 (Mark, Matthew, Daniel, Isaiah) ii. Grade 9 vs. Grade 10 (Esther, Deborah, David, Solomon) iii. Grade 11 vs. Grade 12 (Benjamin, Joseph, Abraham, Moses) b. Each set will have a 1st placer, which means that there will be 3 considered 1st placers. WORD FACTORY GUIDELINES A. Objective ● To list, within 3 minutes, as many words of the highest point value as you can find among the random assortment of letters in the cube grid. B. Preparation a. The game begins by shaking a covered tray of sixteen cubic dice, each with different letters printed on each of its sides. b. The dice settle into a 5x5 tray so that only the top letter of each cube is visible. c. After they have settled into the grid, a three-minute timer is started and all players simultaneously begin the main phase of play. C. Mechanics a. Each player searches for words that can be constructed from the letters of sequentially adjacent cubes, where "adjacent" cubes are those horizontally, vertically, and diagonally neighboring.
